Class Description: Are you thinking of starting you own farm? Are you new to farming and want to learn some basics? This class is for you. Charles will discuss animal basics, fencing, shelter, pasture, forage, land management and more. Sharon will discuss all things chickens! We will have a Q&A session where you can ask questions as well. This will be a classroom like setting with power point presentation. Notebook, pens and water provided.

We purchased Battle Mountain Farm in 2014 to expand our dairy herd and built an event barn to host weddings and events throughout the year. This is a ticketed event and space is limited. Your ticket includes picnic boxed dinner (Gourmet sandwiches, all utensils, cups and plates included) on the lawn of Dr. Hatcher's Cabin. We will provide a blanket per couple/family and set everything up for you! We will share the history of our family farm and tours of Dr. Hatcher’s Cabin. No alcohol provided and the evening will end around 9pm for clean up.
